EXCITED Halton cyclist Lucy Martin will be making her debut at the Olympics today.
The gifted 22-year-old rider from Widnes said she is thrilled to be competing in such a phenomenal world class event.
Her parents, Jane and Steve, 12-year-old brother, Oliver, and 11-year-old sister, Alex, will be watching her her perform live.
Lucy, a former student at Cronton Sixth Form, said: ““I’m really excited. It’s going well.
“Cycling in Great Britain has never been so big and successful. We’ve got the best riders in the mens, the woman defending champion and the track is strong.
“Anyone could get a medal.”
