THE BODY of a missing 14-year-old boy has been found by police next to Queensway Bridge.
Officers from Cheshire Police were alerted at 8am this morning.
They discovered the body on the shore of the River Mersey close to the bridge.
It is not yet known how the Widnes resident died.
He was reported missing by family at 10pm yesterday when a search by police began.
The next of kin have been informed with a formal identification and post mortem due to be carried out.
Terrace Road and Mersey Road have been closed. Police remain at the scene.
They are appealing for witnesses.
Anyone in the vicinity of the bridge between 7pm and 11pm yesterday is asked to call police on 101.
