Fancy dress funsters hope to raise thousands for Halton Haven

HALTON Haven hopes its fourth annual twilight walk on Saturday, July 7, at 8pm, will be the best ever.

Last year, more than 700 walkers completed the 10k route and raised more than £25,000.

You can register on the evening, from 7pm.

Ciaran Clotworthy, hospice events manager, said: “This year, we want it to be bigger than ever and need the local community to get on board.

“Every year we always have tremendous support and the effort walkers go to is wonderful.”

Fancy dress is optional for the fun event which takes walkers from Stobart Stadium, over the Runcorn Widnes bridge, to Runcorn Town Hall and back.

The hospice hopes a new family ticket for £38, covering two adults and up to four children under the age of 16, will encourage more residents to join in.

Individual entries cost £15.
