MOTORISTS face months of weekend delays on the Runcorn Widnes bridge as lane closures will continue until mid-July, warns Halton Council.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane only in each direction very weekend and overnight from 7pm to 6am.
A Halton Council spokesman said: “This maintenance work is essential to ensure the integrity of the bridge and unfortunately traffic disruption, particularly at weekends, is likely.
“Halton Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The off slip road from Weston Point Expressway to teh bridge will be closed most weekends and overnight.
The trumpet loop from the bridge to Weston Point Expressway and the slip road from the bridge to Bridgewater Expressway will be closed, but only one at any one time.
