Halton residents invited to comment on NHS re-organisation

RESIDENTS are being invited to have a say on how the NHS spends money in Halton From April, 2013, subject to legislation, Halton Clinical Commissioning Group will take over responsibility for buying and planning NHS services locally.

Ths is currently done by primary care trusts.

Dr Cliff Richards, chair of Halton CCG, said: “We believe that patients and the communities that we serve should be at the heart of all that we do.

“We want to work with practices and key partners to develop teams of professionals that will work together to deliver care in its widest sense, including social services, the voluntary sector, community health, mental health and other professionals.”

A special event is being held on Tuesday, February 28, from 10am to 2.30pm at Stobart Stadium, Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes.

Dr Richards said: “You will be able to hear more about our vision, our plans for the the future and how you can be part of the transformational change we need to deliver together.”

do people who work for a living not have a say on how their healthcare is provided? why is this event on a weekday and between 10 and 2? Typical of our GP's, only open mon-fri 9-5 when all the working lot are working and now their 'consultation' is following the same path!!
