A CHARITY event at Widnes Market raised £500 for cancer patients.

Paramjit Sekhon, aged 36, served cup cakes and hot drinks at her children’s fashion stall, Missie, on Friday, as part of Macmillan Cancer’s ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’.

Paramjit, from Great Sankey, said: “We were made up.

“I’d like to thank everyone who participated and contributed.

“Some customers gave us donations and said they didn’t want a drink.

“From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank them for their generosity.

“I did a small one last year.

“One in three people will suffer from cancer so we need to do as much as we can to help. Every penny we raised will go to Macmillan.”

She raised £167 last year.
