Police appeal for suspicious man

A MAN has been seen acting suspiciously outside the Blackhorse Post Office, on Cronton Lane, in Widnes.

At about 8.45pm on August 20, the man approached the outside of the post office and interfered with the shutters.

It was later discovered that he had cut the shutters’ sensor wire and police believe this was done in order to leave the premises vulnerable to burglars.

The man was white, aged in his early 20s, of slim build and wore a dark coloured cap and a white t-shirt with a high vis vest over the top.

Whenever a member of the public approached the store the man moved away and acted as if he was on his phone.

If you saw the man or have any idea who he might be contact PC Gary Ellison at Widnes NPT on 0845 458 0000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
