THE Vikings are invading Hale Village.
A re-enactment society will be the star attraction at this weekend’s carnival in Hale Park.
Peter Platt, carnival chairman, said: “Around 300 Vikings will stage re-enactment battles.
“Foot soldiers will also join our procession through the village.”
This year’s event has been extended to two days and will feature birds of prey, a reptile display, fairground and live entertainment including music, drama and performing arts.
Saturday will also see the crowning of rose queen Gabriella Evans from 12pm.
Admission is £2 adults, with under 14s and OAPs free.
