YOUTHS have been mugged by gangs in a spate of robberies in and around Halton Lea shopping centre in Runcorn.
Detectives now believe the incidents are connected and are appealing for witnesses.
Male teenagers have been attacked by a group of two to five youths of similar age on at least six separate occasions this month.
Most incidents have happened late in the afternoon or early evening.
On each occasion, the offenders demand money and mobile phones.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said:”Detectives are treating the incidents as being linked.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who have have witnessed the attacks or who may have information that may assist us.”
Additional resources have been deployed in the area.
Members of the public are warned to be extra vigilant.
