AN outdoor enthusiast who trekked 1,221 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End with her golden retriever, Ben, is turning her hobby into a new career.
Hannah Button, aged 42, fulfilled a lifetime ambition to travel across the country last year.
She has launched her own dog walking company.
“I’m calling it Best Foot Forward because that’s what I used to say every morning to Ben as we set off on our big walk,” said Hannah, of Pochard Rise, Primrose Brook, Runcorn.
“I absolutely loved the walk. It gave me time to think about what I wanted to do.
“I was so fed up with the job market, struggling to find something.
“This is one thing I enjoy getting up for in the morning and working for myself it’s completely stress free.”
Hannah walks dogs for professionals too busy to exercise their pets and elderly owners, too infirm to go out.
“I’m doing it all on foot,” said Hannah, who is prepared to walk anywhere in Runcorn.
“I’ll go out in all weathers, except for blinding hail.”
Hannah has been a nanny in America, a school cook and worked in shops.
“Once I was working as a kennel maid in Oxfordshire and met Michael Caine, my absolutely best top film guy. He came in wanting an alsatian puppy.
“I thought I’d better go and say ‘hello’. It made my decade.”
