Widnes Shopping Park developers donate £2,000 to support male cancer charity

FREE tickets for Widnes Vikings' match against Halifax are being given away today to celebrate the opening of Widnes Shopping Park.

Developers Stadium Development has donated £2,000 to the male cancer charity, Everyman, which the team is supporting.

Players will be handing out tickets today at the new shopping centre in Gerrard Street.

Mark Naughton, Vikings community and press officer, said: "We will be stopping shoppers at random and asking them if they have been shopping at the new Widnes Shopping Park. "We will then be rewarding some of them with free tickets for tonight's game."

Vikings will be sporting a new strip at tonight's game to highlight testicular and prostrate cancer.

A portion of the gate money will also be donated to the charity
