IMAGINATIVE children are being challenged to create a model from one of the country’s best loved vegetables.
Youngsters aged four to 11 are invited to make weird and wonderful creatures and people from potatoes at Bold Heath Carden Centre in Widnes.
Paul Bryan, garden centre manager, said: “It is a fun idea and we hope as many youngsters as possible enter.
“We will have the models on display to ask customers to vote for their favouries.”
The competition is part of a grow your own potatoes event and runs until March 22.
First prize winners in each of two age categories will receive a £5 gift voucher and a certificate.
Each winner’s school will receive a bag of seed potatoes, a potato planter and grow sac.
Entry forms are available from the garden centre.
