CHILDREN are learning how to deal with dangererous dilemmas at home and on the streets, railways and roads.

Pupils from every primary school in Halton is challenged to take part in Crucial Crew at Stobart Stadium.

A Halton Council spokesman said: “With the ever present danger faced by the children of Halton each day, Crucial Crew is an invaluable event, which is effectively reducing the risk and increasing the social responsibility of the future generation.”

Firefighters team up with police officers and various other agencies to create emergency scenarios.

Youngsters are then invited to tackle situations they may well encounter in daily life and see how they cope.

Each room is staffed by members of a safety organisation.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services, NHS Halton and St Helens, Halton Community Safety Team, Halton Council Parks and Countryside, Road Safety and the Child Safeguarding Team co-ordinate the event which runs for a fortnight.
