AN award-winning Widnes chemical museum is set to take off with a big bang.
Catalyst Science Discovery Centre in West Bank, Widnes is planning to expand its education programme and promote itself nationally after receiving a loan of £50,000.
Julie Burgess-Wilson, chief executive, said: “Catalyst is dedicated to promoting the excitement of science to all visitors and, in particular, engage with young people to ensure that hands on science is accessible.
“We believe our unique facility offers something for everyone.
“This grant is invaluable to Catalyst as we try to develop and link with a wider group of potential visitors and shareholders.”
Roy White, north west regional director of Tejh he Social Enterprise Loan Fund which awarded the grant, said: “Catalyst offers something unique with a range of lessons and interactive shows. We are thrilled to be able to assist in this way.”
