WIDNES Vikings have pledged their support for this year’s Easter Sunday charity road race.
Players will be pounding over the bridge alongside thousands of entrants in Halton’s five mile event.
Alex Bonney, Vikings chief executive, said: “We are hoping for a big team turnout, subject to fixture clashes, as well as trying to get supporters involved in this excellent addition to our community involvement.”
Entries are now open.
Bill Sergeant, chairman of the Halton and Hale road race committee, said: “We expect local runners to really go for the race this year.
“While we get many club runners, mmost are individuals running for local charities such as Halton Haven and Macmillan.
“Starting later in the year this time hopefully it will mean better weather.”
