EXCITED toddlers have enjoyed an adventure into Sherwood Forest.

Robin Hood and Maid Marian visited Birchfield Nursery School in Victoria Road, Widnes.

Sue Duxbury, head teacher, said: “Not only was the performance fantastic fun, it linked into the curriculum helping children to gain confidence, enjoy songs and dance, develop listening skills and an awareness of right and wrong.

“The children have been busy learning stories, songs and rhymes, using puppets, characters and computer programmes all linked to the story.”

Children made pictures, dressing up props and developed outdoor play in their very own forest to prepare for the drama.

The panto was performed by Pyramid Theatre Company.
