A HOMELESS family faced Christmas with no food, no toys, no clothes and no furniture.
Mother-of-four Tammie Foy suffers from depression and lost her home after falling behind with the rent.
“We had absolutely nothing except three mattresses, “ said Tammie, aged 31, of Tilbury Place, Murdishaw, Runcorn.
“My benefits had not been sorted out so we had little money.”
When teachers at her son’s school, Murdishaw West Primary School, heard of their plight, they flew into action.
Tammie, who used to live in Halebank, Widnes, said: “They chipped in out of their own pockets and bought the children beds, a television, chairs and clothes.
“I was in tears. They even got us a massive food shop and also gave the children toys.
“They did this out of the kindness of their heart and really helped a horrible time become a happy time.
“I have no way of thanking them with flowers but when I read about your Pride of Halton, I wanted to nominate them.
“This is the perfect way for me to say thank you to them.”
Tammie and her children Harry, aged seven, Jake, aged five, Alfie, aged four and two-year-old Ellie have now settled into their new home.
“They went out of their way to make sure we had a good Christmas,” said Tammie.
“They came round personally with everything.”
Tammie wants to say a special thank you to head teacher Chris Baynes, teacher Emily Dosset, teaching assistants Carol Kavanah and Mel Caldwell and secretary Eva Long.
