Halton Brook F.C. 0 Bridge Timber F.C. 0 Bridge win 6-5 on pens Bridge Timber edged out Halton Brook 6-5 on penalties with Chris Thompson saving the decisive spot kick to send Timber through.Halton Brook had a decent effort in the 8th minute but Thompson had it covered and confidently watched the ball go wide. Wes Farrington brought a good save out of the opposing keeper which he touched onto the cross bar and 2 minutes later Ricky Thompson had a good shot deflected out for a corner. Halton Brook then had a goal disallowed for off side in the 18th minute. Both teams cancelled each other out with both teams working hard to try and gain the upper hand and in the 65th minute, Karl Jenkins found Ricky Thompson in space down the right, he whipped in his cross and Liam Sweeney headed goalwards only to see it bounce back off the upright. Bridge introduced David Sheaky and Connor Anderson to try and break Brooks defence and Anderson nearly obliged only to be forced wide by the keeper and Liam Sweeney forced a brilliant save from the Halton Brook keeper late on to take the game to extra time. Chris Thompsons outstanding save in the 95th minute kept the score at 0-0 and both teams attacked on the break with Sweeney again bringing a great save before the ref blew for penalties. With the scores locked at 5 each after Liam Sweeney, Ricky Thompson,Connor Anderson, Wes Farrington and Karl Jenkins all scoring from the spot, David Sheakey stepped up for Timbers 6th and found the corner before Chris Thompson threw himself to his right and with an outstanding save put Bridge threw to the next round, Robbie Davis was given the man of the match award for Bridge Timber.
