FUN and laughter filled the night air as 700 fundraisers took part in Halton Haven’s first twilight walk.
They hope their walk from Spike Island to Wigg Island and back again on Saturday will raise more than £50,000.
Catriona Cameron, aged 23, of Norton Village, Runcorn, who is Miss Cheshire 2009, joined the fundraisers.
She said: “There was a phenomenal atmosphere.
“There were generations of families walking together, people of all ages, even babies in prams.
“The walk was brilliant. One man dressed up in a full pantomime dame costume.
“When we got back to Spike Island, there was a great party atmosphere with live music and a hot supper.”
Each walker was provided with a backpack containing water, mints, fluorescent bands and a map.
“The whole event was superbly organised,” said Catriona.
“It was a brilliant evening, so much fun and wonderful tos ee so many people turning out to help our local hospice.”
