Children from Heath school Runcorn live the high life in airline class

ENTHUSIASTIC Runcorn teenagers discovered what it is like to work on board a plane this week.

They swopped their lessons for a practical taste of life as stewards and pilots in an airline masterclass.

Julian Wade, enterprise co-ordinator at The Heath Technical College, explained: “Each year, we put the whole school off timetable for an enterprise day.

“It gives pupils a chance to equip themselves with the skills they will need to get on in the 21st century, such as problem solving, financial management and teamwork.

“These transferrable skills could be used in lots of different jobs.”

Year eight took part in a learn-to-earn project, year nine followed an ‘enterprise in Halton’ challenge. Year ten was involved in the airplane masterclass and year 11 completed skills for work.
