POLICE on patrol in Halton have started carrying hand-held metal detectors to help them identify youngsters who are carrying weapons.
Officers from the Halton Neighbourhood Policing Units also patrolled areas renowned for anti-social behaviour with video cameras to help them gather evidence for court cases.
Anyone found behaving anti-socially is referred by police to partner agencies such as the local youth offending teams.
