A WOMAN who launched ‘multiple headbutts’ towards other people during assaults has been spared jail.

Rebecca Wilson was hauled before the courts for her disgraceful actions after drinking – which included spitting at other women.

The 30-year-old was subsequently charged with two counts of assault by beating.

She entered guilty pleas to both offences at Warrington Magistrates’ Court, with the case proceeding to sentence.

The court heard from the prosecutor how both offences were committed in Widnes on September 1 last year.

Against two other women, Wilson delivered multiple headbutts and spat at them, it was said.

Taking into account what they had heard, magistrates remarked that the severity of the offences meant the case had crossed the custodial threshold.

This was also due to the vile nature of the incident, which was against both emergency workers and members of the public, and the fact that the defendant was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

However, taking her guilty pleas into account, they concluded that the prison sentence did not have to be immediate.

This was as a result of a determination by the probation service that she is a ‘realistic prospect for rehabilitation’.

Wilson, of Avondale Drive in Widnes, was sentenced to 8 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.

She must also complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay compensation of £100 to each victim.
