A LARGE area of bracken went up in flames on Runcorn Hill.
One fire crew from Runcorn was dispatched to the scene at 1.22pm following reports of a blaze yesterday, Monday.
The area of bracken on fire covered some 75 square metres.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire Service said: "They were unable to get the fire engine close to the blaze so had to use a combination hose to put out the fire."
