A WIDNES primary school has been praised by inspectors.

Ofsted rated St Michael with St Thomas CE Primary School was given a Good with Outstanding features Ofsted rating, demonstrating a significant journey over the past few years from a failing school to one which demonstrates excellence.

The school's commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment for its students has been recognised and celebrated by inspectors, marking a significant achievement for both staff and pupils.

Inspectors praised the Widnes school for its 'unwavering dedication to striving for excellence in teaching standards, exceptional behaviour and the nurturing of a supportive and inclusive school community'.

Inspectors highlighted the innovative approaches to personal development, and the school's commitment to ensuring that all children blossom during their time in school.

Head teacher, Michelle Slingsby said: "This Ofsted outcome is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our exceptional staff, amazing pupils, and supportive parents.

"This could not have been possible without being part of our exceptional Trust – The Three Saints Academy.

"It reflects the tireless efforts we put into creating an environment where every child can blossom and reach their full potential.

"It has been a huge journey from Requires Improvement, to a school with Outstanding features, and we could not be more proud of our school."

Prospective parents are encouraged to attend upcoming open evening events and school tours.
