THE dream accessory to any shopping centre in a parent’s eyes has finally opened in Runcorn this week.

Kids Corner had its grand opening at Runcorn Shopping City on Monday, welcoming children from all over the borough to enjoy the new facility.

Community Square was brought alive from midday with a colourful event full of soft play, games, balloons and activities.

Parent and baby groups were invited along to get involved and to celebrate what will be the permanent new feature at the centre.

Popular children’s TV character Bluey also appeared at the event to greet young attendees.

Dave Pearman, Shopping Centre Manager at Runcorn Shopping City, said: “Kids Corner at Shopping City is an exciting new play area.

“It is an open, soft play that we invite the public to come and enjoy. It is themed, colourful and will be used to host groups and small events for family fun and educational classes for kids throughout the year.”

Coffee King sponsored the event and provided food and drinks throughout.

“Bluey was a particular favourite amongst our visitors, and it was a fun-filled day to launch the centre’s newest offering to the community,” Mr Pearman added.

The event also marked the launch of Shopping City’s ‘Monday Fundays’, where the centre will be partnering with community groups to offer classes and activities for young people in the local area within this space.
