RUNCORN and Widnes cinemas will be taking place in a national cinema event this Saturday that will see £3.00 tickets offered.

REEL Cinema in Widnes, and Cineworld in Runcorn will both be taking part in the National Cinema Day initiative which will see standard tickets offered at the low price of just £3.00.

Amidst the cost-of-living crisis, and the ever-increasing cost of going to the cinema, film fans and families will have the opportunity to go to the movies for a cheaper cost than ever.

The offering will see options for all demographics, with the acclaimed box office hits ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ still in cinemas, family favourites such as ‘Elemental’ and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’, as well as ‘The Equalizer 3’ released just this week.

Adding to that ‘The Meg 2’ and DC’s ‘Blue Beetle’, there is an absolutely stacked lineup of films available for a massively reduced cost.

Further, REEL Cinema Widnes will be holding a special screening of ‘Peter Pan’ for the even more affordable price of just £1.00.

National Cinema Day arrives following a summer of peak audience engagement, including the UK’s biggest week of box office ever, as well as its highest recorded admissions since December 2012.

Led by cross-industry body Cinema First (with support from both the Film Distributors’ Association and the UK Cinema Association) last year’s National Cinema Day was a resounding success, delivering an impressive 1,620,000 cinemagoers from its 643 participating venues across the UK & Ireland.

In the post-COVID period, the event provided a welcome fillip to both operators and audiences alike, whilst amassing three times the admissions level of the equivalent day in the more robust pre-pandemic era.
