PUPILS were all smiles at Sandymoor Ormiston Academy on GCSE results day.
All of the school's leavers were celebrated by their principal, who said the school is 'exceptionally proud' of all that they have achieved.
The academy, which is off Wharford Lane, in Runcorn, is celebrating hard work paying off for many of its outgoing year 11 students.
Speaking to the World, Sally Jones - principal at Sandymoor Ormiston Academy - said: "To say we are exceptionally proud of this year group is an understatement.
"We have had some real stand-out results this year on many different levels and we know how hard our students have worked – we recognise them as the superstars they are.
“We wish each and every one of our students lots of luck as they step out to their next adventure.”
Included in the academy's high achievers this year are:
- Cerys Gorrell - two grade 9s, seven grade 8s and a Distinction*
- Matthew Garton-Pope - three grade 9s, five grade 8s and a Distinction*
- Oliver Hodgkinson - four grade 9s, four grade 8s and a Distinction*
- Amelia Twite - two grade 9s, four grade 8s and a Distinction*
The secondary school added: "Everyone has come together to mark the achievements of all the students, who have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to secure these grades."
