THIS man hit a teenager with a knife before his friend stamped on his head during a horrific bungled armed robbery.

The 16-year-old victim, of Widnes, was also hit with a knife handle during the attack at playing fields, in Dundalk Road, at about 8.15pm on May 23.

The attacker approached the victim and demanded cash and his mobile phone before striking him with the blade handle.

A second attacker ran over and stamped on the youngster while he was on the ground.

Two girls, who were with the offenders, tried to intervene before the pair left empty handed.

The victim was taken to Warrington Hospital after suffering minor injuries.

He was white, aged 17-18, about 5ft 10in, slim to medium build and had light brown shoulder-length afro-style curly hair. He wore a beige sweater or hooded top with two horizontal blue stripes on it.

His accomplice was white, also aged 17-18 and about 5ft10in and medium to stocky build. He had a short haircut with a fringe, wore a dark tracksuit, and a dark brown and black shirt.

One of the girls was white, aged 17-18, about 5ft 8in, slim and had long straight browny-blonde hair.
