FIFEFIGHTERS were dispatched to tackle a fire involving a canal boat yesterday, Thursday.
Two fire engines from Penketh and Widnes fire stations rushed to Fiddlers Ferry Marina in Penketh at around 12.30pm.
When fire crews arrived, they discovered that the boat was ‘well alight’.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, along with a positive pressure ventilation fan.
A full search of the boat was undertaken and all persons were accounted for.
