AS we enter the week before Christmas, many will be looking forward to a cosy evening at the cinema for Christmas Eve this Saturday.

For anyone wondering what is on, we’ve got you covered as we will round up all the films that you can pop down to see on Christmas Eve.

Cineworld Runcorn

A common saying about films is that they transport you to another world. Well at the Cineword in Runcorn there is only one world they are looking to transport you to, and that is Pandora.

The long-awaited sequel to Avatar, Avatar: Way of the Water, is the only film showing at the Cineworld in town on Saturday, with 12 different screenings at various times throughout the day. Five of these are in the 3D that the Avatar franchise is now known for.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

Reel Cinema Widnes

Reel Cinema in Widnes, whilst also showing Avatar, are looking to please the whole family.

In the afternoon they are showing Strange World, the newest Disney animation film, and Roald Dahl's Matilda, a new and updated version of the classic film.

As well as this: there is a screening of Elf, the beloved Christmas classic starring Will Ferrell, for those looking for their Christmas film fix.

For those without kids, however, they will be showing Violent Night at 5pm, a new film led by Stranger Things star David Harbour.

Violent Night is an action romp in which Santa Claus breaks into a compound being held hostage by mercenaries to save the day in violent fashion. Check out the trailer below:
