A CAT had a lucky escape after falling down a grid in Widnes.
The cat had become trapped between an internal and external wall on Lower House Lane.
Emergency crews were called shortly after 5pm on Friday, December 2.

In a painstaking operation, firefighters managed to pluck the cat to safety.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were able to remove bricks from the outer wall, in conjunction with onsite personnel, to reach the animal and bring it out safely.
One fire engine from Widnes attended the incident.
