Brookvale F.C. 1 Bridge Timber F.C. 4 After great efforts by the Brookvale management team the game got the go ahead from referee Carl Crabb and it had an explosive start when Kev Wards great cross was headed home by Karl Thomas in the 1st minute despite a good effort by the Brookvale keeper to keep it out. An outstanding tackle by Lee Evans straight after Bridge took the lead kept their lead intact until in the 8th minute Brookvale reacted with a great team move to get the equaliser when they headed home from close range. Brookvale again had a good chance from just outside the box but Bridge Timbers keeper, Andy Stringer easily saved.Gary jacques, just back from 6 weeks out swung in a dangerous corner but Ste Coadys headed flew just over.Kev Ward had a great chance to put Timber back in front but his shot was straight at the keeper to keep the score 1-1 at the interval. The 2nd half saw Bridge have increased pressure with Brookvale defending well with Louis Watson having some good runs, linking up with Lewis Buckley and Lee Evans and Paul Wilson creating chances for kev Ward but Brookvales keeper was having a good game to frustrate Bridge before Karl Thomas gave Bridge the lead in the 80th minute after good work from Kev Patterson and Ward, Thomas chipping the ball over the keeper from close range to calm Timbers nerves. Karl Thomas then got his hat trick when Kev Pattersons amazing run and link up play with Jay o Brien found Lewis Buckley on ther left,Buckleys pinpoint cross gave Thomas the time to tee himself up to find the net with the outside of his foot for 3-1. Thomas again found the net from close range with an angled drive to make the final score 4-1 to Bridge Timber. Bridge Timbers man of the match was Kev Patterson with an outstanding performance in dreadful conditions. Bridge play Halton Barley this sunday in the Runcorn Sunday Cup Final at Pavillions,Weston Point, kick off 11am.
