A LARGE HGV carrying tonnes of mixed recycling was found ablaze in Runcorn yesterday.
Three fire engines attended Arkwright Court at 3.26pm and found the vehicle alight, which was carrying 6-8 tonnes of mixed recycling.
The cause remains under investigation, although it is not believed to be deliberate.
Wearing a breathing apparatus, crews used a hose reel and hose reel jet to put out the flames and damp down the area.
A thermal imaging camera was used to detect further traces of heat.
The engines that attended the scene were from Northwich, Widnes and Lymm.
