HERE is a very old shot from Rainford Parish Church from around the early 1900s.
The picture features Canon J. Bridger and has been shared by reader Suzanne.
She said: "I am researching my friends family tree, which has Rainford roots and came across the below photograph in one of her grandma’s albums which I thought might be of interest.
"On the back is written Cannon J Bridger c. 1900 Rainford Parish Church.
"I’ve checked him out and he wasn’t a local, born about 1843 in Petworth, Surrey but he was at the Vicarage in Rainford in both the 1901 and 1911 Census."
