THE family of 18-year-old Eddie O'Rourke who died after a disturbance outside the Royal British Legion pub have requested well-wishers to leave cards or notes rather than write on the building's walls.
Eddie O’Rourke, of The Clough, Runcorn, died after sustaining a serious injury outside the pub on Castle Road, Halton Village on Friday night.
Since, tributes have flooded in for the 18-year-old and flowers have been left outside the pub.
His family has expressed thanks for the tributes and requested well-wishers leave cards or notes of sympathy for the family to pick up rather than write on the building's walls, police have said.
In a statement, Runcorn Police said: "The family of Eddie O’Rourke, who died on Friday following a disturbance outside the Royal British Legion in Runcorn, have asked us to pass on their thanks to people who have left floral tributes to him outside the pub.
"They have also asked that rather than tributes being written on the building’s walls they would welcome cards or notes being left by well-wishers so the family can keep them for the future."
