TWO men have raided a home in Widnes but left the crime scene empty handed.

Between 6pm and 7pm on August 15, two young men broke into a property on Wilmere Lane while no-one was at home.

They were disturbed by a neighbour and fled the address at around 7pm, climbing over the back garden fence and running along playing fields towards the M62.

The offenders are described as around 16 to 17 years old.

They were wearing black North Face jackets. One of them had black trousers on and the other was wearing grey trousers.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the offenders or believes they may know who the young males are.

PC Ian Harrison said: “Burglary is a serious offence in which people are targeted in the place they should be able to feel most safe, their own home.

“In this instance the offenders were disturbed by a neighbour and nothing is believed to have been stolen from the property.

“We are looking to identify the offenders and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries are ongoing and I urge anyone with information that may help with our investigation, no matter how small, to come forward.”

Anyone with information can call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 155635, give the details via cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
