THE nail-biting wait was finally over for pupils at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy who celebrated another successful year following an increase in the number of students achieving top grades.

The overall pass rate in the sixth form was up again on last year’s figures.

At A-level, the average grade awarded was a C or above, with 20 per cent of all A-level marked at an A*- A grade.

Nick Hudson, CEO of Ormiston Academies Trust, described the results as a ‘testament to the hard work and determination of students, supported by their teachers and parents’.

“As a trust, it is our absolute priority to ensure that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their potential and the skills to succeed whether going on to study at a leading university or entering the world of work.”

Emlyn Wright, principal, added: “We are very ambitious for our pupils and both our teaching and non-teaching staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure that we meet our mission statement to give students the opportunity to go to university or get a good job that will give them a life of choice and opportunity. It goes without saying that we are very grateful for the continued support of our parents.

“It really is a day for all of us to feel very proud– it has been a real team effort”.
