A TALENTED teen from Runcorn loved every minute of his experience on The Voice Kids – despite narrowly missing out on a coveted place in the much-anticipated final.

Will Callan, 14, has continued to go from strength to strength in the ITV talent show series after picking pop singer Pixie Lott as his mentor in the hope of securing the £30,000 prize and a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.

The Heath School pupil made his debut on the popular programme when millions of viewers watched him perform Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell earlier this month.

In the semi-finals, the teen, who has appeared in countless shows at the Liverpool Empire and Epstein productions including the lead of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, performed Thinkin’ Bout You’ by Frank Ocean.

The frontman for pop supergroup The Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am praised the singer for his performance after he showcased his vocal capabilities.

McFly band member Danny Jones added: “To sing falsetto with this pressure is very hard to do.

“You are like a popstar.”

His mentor Pixie Lott continued: “We know how much of a big fan I am of you and your voice.

“I think you have a real soulful and classic voice but also current and relevant and they style of music that you like it could work today.”

But his musical journey on the show came to end on Friday after he failed to make the final cut after battling it out against 11 other hopefuls.

Posting on his Instagram page after the show, he said: “Absolutely loved it!

“Although I think I could’ve done better but the semi is done now and I’ve loved everything so far.”

He continued: “Just wanted to say I loved every minute of being on the show and hope that everybody, who made it through or not, will go somewhere in the future because you were all amazing.”

But this is not the end for the talented singer who urged his thousands of Instagram followers to stick around as he starts the next chapter of his music career.
