BURGLARS have targeted a popular coffee shop in Runcorn during a 'senseless attack'.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the raid between Thursday at 5.30pm and Friday at 9am.
The thieves smashed the windows and back door of the cafe on Highlands Road.
Burglars then ransacked the coffee shop before stealing a small quantity of cash.
DS Rob McLoughlin, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “This is a senseless attack on a coffee shop which is so popular with the community.
“We are in the process of following a number of lines of enquiry to find those who are responsible and appealing for anyone with information to call us on 101.”
