A RUNCORN school has celebrated its 40th birthday.
Gorsewood Primary School in Murdishaw held an anniversary fete to mark the historic milestone.
Past pupils, families, staff and former teachers joined the summer extravaganza.
It was a big reunion as all three head teachers met for the occasion.
The school's first head teacher John Patten enjoyed sharing happy memories with Lisa McMillan and current head teacher Janette Gregg.
Children staged various performances including instrumentals and drumming.
The mayor and mayoress of Halton Cllrs John and Marjorie Bradshaw were among the special guests.
