A BURGLAR stole money and watches from a house in Runcorn.

The occupant was out when the break in happened on The Underway in Halton Village between 4pm and 5.15pm on Tuesday, July 10.

The intruder searched through the property.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Robert McLoughlin said: “Burglary is a serious offence that targets people in the place they should be able to feel most safe – their own home.

“It is deeply unsettling to know that someone has broken into your home and rummaged through your belongings and we are determined to catch whoever was responsible and bring them to justice.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I urge anyone who was in the area and saw, or has dashcam footage or any information that may help with our investigation to get in touch with the police."
