I AM writing following a reader's comments about the demise of the ancient sandstone wall by the Catalyst Museum in West Bank, Widnes.
I would like to point out that another sandstone wall which as yet has only been slightly damaged.
But I'm pretty sure that shortly it will be damaged ‘by accident’ to allow better access for some properties.
The beautiful wall in question is on the corner of Coroners Lane and Pitt Lane in Farnworth.
One of the coping stones has already gone and lovely trees decimated.
No one seems to be monitoring the wall which surely must be listed.
Every time I pass it’s looking less positive for the wall.
I,m just waiting for an accident to happen.
