A CHARITY golf tournament is being held to support children with cerebral palsy.

Charity Stick ‘n’ Step is looking for corporate sponsors for a one day fundraising event being held at Runcorn Golf Club on September 2.

Chief executive of Stick ‘n’ Step Amy Couture said: “Fundraising is a really vital part of Stick ‘n’ Step’s work.

"It costs £4,500 to cover the cost of one child using our facilities and services for a year and with 1 in every 400 children born with cerebral palsy, our services are greatly in demand.

"It’s very exciting to be planning a big event in Runcorn which will be held almost a year after we opened our centre here.”

A centre at Tudor Hall on York Street provides children with free conductive education sessions, which improves mobility, independence and self confidence, enabling every child to reach their personal potential.

More than 80 children from across the regional attend sessions weekly or twice a week at the charity's Runcorn and Wallasey centre.

Teams of four will be taking part in the tournament.

A variety of sponsorship packages are available, including sponsoring each of the 18 holes on the course at a cost of £500 per hole, which includes entry for a four ball team.

Tee times are available from 9.30am to 2.30pm. After their round, golfers can enjoy a barbeque and evening entertainment, open to family members too.

Anyone interested in providing sponsorship or entering a team for this golfing event can call Sarah Smithson on 0151 638 0888.
