I AM writing again over the tsunami of fast food outlets opening in Runcorn old town.
In 2012 a Halton Council supplementary planning document raised great concerns that there was an abundance of fast food outlets at 68.
The figure now stands at 108, with Runcorn old town having 20, with unbelievably a further two more now approved!
So much for Halton Council's much vaunted support for the Healthy Town’s initiative.
Halton Lea was chosen as one of 10 demonstrator sites because it falls within the top one per cent of most deprived areas nationally and has higher than average levels of health inequality and obesity.
It is pure hypocrisy.
Where does our local MP Derek Twigg stand on this?
The silence is deafening and it has been six years since this document highlighted the problem.
