MARTIAL arts students are celebrating success after competing in regional tournaments.
Children from Matt Fiddes classes in Widnes took part in the annual Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Northern Championships in Penrith.
Chief instructor Steve James said: "We have had four tournaments over the last three weeks and this has been far the best one.
"I am so proud of the students and the team."
Steve has been teaching in Widnes, St Helens and Great Sankey since 2004 and says students have won more medals this year than ever before.
Medal winners were Jack Conroy, Kyle McElroy, Leah and Harvey Evans, Jacob Sidwell, Harry Rose, Aaron Webster and Lola and Frankie Hansen.
Owen Creswell who was unlucky not to win a medal was commended for working worked hard in the run up to the tournament.
The club trains at Widnes Rugby Union Club on Heath Road.
