THE joy and happiness of the royal wedding was shared on Saturday by a Widnes couple.
Richard Berry, 28, and Kate Cleary, 28, got married an hour after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The pair met five years ago and exchanged their vows under a sun-kissed pergola in the walled garden of Runcorn's 900-year-old Norton Priory.
"We had the most perfect day," said Richard, of Bunhills. "It was great to celebrate with our friends and family, even the weather was great."
The couple's two-and-a-half year old son Lucas was page boy, following in the footsteps of Prince George.
Richard and Kate invited 50 relatives and friends to witness their wedding - unlike the royal wedding which was watched by two billion people worldwide.
The couple, who work at the Ombudsman Services in Warrington, held their reception at the Holiday Inn and danced into the night with 130 guests.
