BUDDING financial wizards learnt all about stocks and shares on an educational trip to New York.

Thirteen business students from Cronton Sixth Form and Riverside College had an interactive tour of Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.

The group also enhanced their knowledge of the finance industry by visiting the home of the world famous banking dynasty, the Rockefellers.

A visit to buildings owned by the multi-billionaire businessman and current US President Donald J Trump was also on their exciting itinerary.

Second year level three business student Caitlin Brown said:“It was a once in a lifetime trip where I learned so much about the history of one of the world’s most influential cities.

"The trip enhanced my understanding of the world of business in general which has motivated me to succeed on my course so that I can one day return to the city as an influential businesswoman myself!”

Students were mesmerised by iconic sights such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Central Park as they explored one of the world's most iconic cities.

Business lecturer and trip organiser Bryan Doyle said: “ Far too often some young people in our area don’t get the opportunity to expand their horizons and experience other cultures.

“This trip not only allowed our students to learn about a different culture but it also gave them a much broader understanding of the global economy and our place in it which has given them a much deeper insight into the topics they have been studying.

"It was a real pleasure to spend this time with such a fantastic bunch of young people.

"The trip was a huge success and I can’t wait to start organising next year’s business studies residential.”
