FANCY learning how to create a whole new wardrobe?
A sewing course run by Halton Council could help you to save money, design your own clothes and embark on a new career in fashion.
Three different 10-week courses in sewing skills are on offer and there’s something for all levels.
Pattern cutting is held on Monday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
This course shows how to develop figure knowledge and measurements, produce a draft for a skirt, bodice and sleeves and produce different styles relevant to figure shapes.
Recycle your clothes runs on Friday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
This includes making decorations for clothes, i.e. flowers, bows and patches, reshape clothes to make them fit, dress up shoes and bags, and use techniques such as gathers, pleats and applique.
Advanced sewing runs on Tuesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
This is ideal progression for anyone who has completed a sewing course or already sews as a hobby and can use a machine.
It’s an opportunity to work at a higher level on outdoor or evening wear.
Courses are held at Kingsway Learning Centre, Widnes, and each costs £60 but fee remission does apply.
