A FAMILY fun day is being held at Norton Priory Museum on Bank Holiday Monday May 7.

Children will be challenged to search for a large brown baby bear reported to be upset after finding someone his chair broken and someone sleeping in his bed - suspected to be Goldilocks.

Norton Priory ranger Paul Quigley said: “It is not unusual for visitors to spot a range of wildlife in the grounds of the museum, but this is quite astonishing!

"The bear showed interest in our bee hives and has been seen sniffing around the woodland presumably looking for replacement wood so it can rebuild its furniture.”

A plan has been hatched to try and track the bear and lure it back to the museum.

Learning and community manager Allison Kirk said: “We are putting on a fabulous day of bear-themed fun for families who are up for a bit of bear wrangling!

"There will be paper crafts, trails and timed storywalks where families can join Goldilocks and The Rangers as they search for baby bear.”

Norton Priory museum is open 10am -5pm.

Activities take place between10am and 4pm at the museum.

Usual admission prices apply, adults £8.75, children £6.05, family £24.50, under 4s free. Community card holders are asked to pay £1 per participating child.
