SCHOOLCHILDREN are celebrating after winning the annual Crucial Crew event at the Halton Stadium
Year 5 pupils from St John Fisher Catholic Primary School in Widnes won the annual Crucial Crew Event at the Halton Stadium.
They were presented with a Widnes Vikings shield and a signed rugby ball after coming first out of 48 primary schools across Halton.
The children’s behaviour was exemplary and they stood out from the 1500 pupils who attended the event.
Youngsters learnt how to save lives and deal with around 999 incidents from emergency crews and safety experts.
They acted out out eight different scenarios with firefighters and health and road safety experts.
The annual event, organised Halton Council’s Road Safety Team, featured emergency scenarios provided by partners from Cheshire Fire, Cheshire Police, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Children’s Safeguarding Board, SP Energy Networks, Road Safety, Independent Travel Team and Health Improvement Team who all delivered safety messages in a fun and interactive way.
Funding for the event was provided by Halton Children’s Safeguarding Board, SP Energy Networks, Halton Unison, Crimebeat and Safer Halton Partnership.
